Fort Sutter Section members are invited to join members from the Capitol and River City Sections in a special joint section meeting.

7/29/09 PECG Joint Section Meeting - Pictures

On Wednesday, July 29, 2009, PECG held its annual Joint Section Meeting at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria. There are 17 sections in PECG, and the meeting included members from Sections 13-15: Capitol, River City, and Fort Sutter, respectively.

The first speaker was Mark Sheahan, PECG Corporate President, who welcomed the members in attendance and gave an optimistic look for PECG next year.

The second speaker was Bruce Blanning, PECG Executive Director, who spoke about furloughs, supervisor raises, outsourcing, FED-PAC, and continuation of bargaining.

The keynote speaker was the Honorable John Chiang, California State Controller, who spoke about the state budget and furloughs. Chiang also mentioned that while we all need to sacrifice and do our part to help, he supports the right of state employees to negotiate in good faith bargaining rather than imposed punishment.

Thank you to those who attended Fort Sutter PECG's Membership Luncheon at Broiler Steak House in Sacramento, held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008.

Our guest speaker was Mr. Dave Low:
- Chair of the Labor Coalition, of which PECG is a member
- Assistant Legislative Director of the California School Employees Association
- Member of the Governor's Public Employee Post Employment Benefits Commission

Mr. Low discussed the findings of the Governor's Public Employee Post Employment Benefits Commission and provided his assessment of what the findings mean in terms of legislative changes.

Judges Needed for the Sacramento Regional Science and Engineering Fair

Dear PECG Member:

Please consider volunteering as a judge for the Sacramento Regional Science and Engineering Fair on Saturday, March 24, 2007. Judges will be evaluating science and engineering projects from area students in 6th through 12th grades. These fairs are important community events that help cultivate the next generation of scientists and engineers in the region.

Spring Membership Meeting

A membership meeting has been scheduled for February 3, 2005 at the Nine Doors Restaurant, 815 11th Street, Sacramento at 11:45 am. The meeting is open to Ft. Sutter PECG members only. The featured guest speaker will be Darrell Steinberg. Also, the PECG office will provide an update on PECG activites. You must sign up by Monday, January 31 to attend. Seating is limited. Nominations for Ft Sutter Section Officers

Nominations for Ft. Sutter Section Officers are now being accepted for the next term beginning in October 2004. We need concerned individuals who are committed to protecting our rights to fair and adequate compensation, and who have a willingness to help their fellow PECG members by serving as an officer in the Ft. Sutter Section. The Officers' positions open for nominations are Director, President, President-Elect, Vice President Supervisory, Vice President Rank-and-file, Secretary, Treasurer, and Membership Chair. Nominations for office may be made by email to: kknott@oshpd.state.ca.gov or by calling Ken Knott at (916) 324-9066. Nominations are due by 5:00 PM on August 6th.
